Leonard Snart, also known as Captain Cold, is a prominent villain and anti-hero in the DC Comics universe, particularly notable during the New 52 era. He is a member of the Rogues, a group of Central City criminals who operate under a code of honor.

Snart lacks inherent superpowers, but compensates with intelligence and technological prowess. His signature weapon is the Cold Gun, developed from a S.T.A.R. Labs prototype. This device allows him to generate intense cold, capable of freezing targets instantly, creating ice constructs, and manipulating absolute zero.

The New 52 version of Captain Cold features a more tragic backstory. He undergoes experimentation which grants him genuine cryokinetic abilities, including absolute zero manipulation from within. This transformation blurs the line between man and weapon, adding a deeper layer to his motivations and interactions with characters like The Flash.

Though often portrayed as a criminal, the New 52 iteration of Captain Cold exhibits a strong sense of loyalty to the Rogues and possesses a pragmatic morality. He's willing to make difficult choices for the perceived greater good of his team and Central City, often placing him in conflict, and sometimes alliance, with the Flash.
